So, without further ado, we share you with tips and tricks on how you be more caring to your stylish cotton linen sarees to keep it looking beautiful for years to come.

Being handloom saree cotton linen requires a lot of attention and care as they are extremely delicate. It is always preferred that you give it to dry the cleaners for a wash. But if you do not want your saree to be dry cleaned, then you must take the caring matter into your own hands –
Do not machine wash cotton linen sarees. Linen is a delicate fabric, so you should handle it gently throughout this entire process. Do not bundle and leave the saree for a long time in wet conditions.

Cleaning
When you wash your linen saree for the first time, soak it in cold or lukewarm water mixed with salt for 10-15 minutes before you wash your saree with soap or detergent. This will preserve the printed color, extend its life, and keep it from shrinking. Do not brush or beat the saree while washing even for stains, as it can easily tear the fabric. NEVER use hot water as it is very delicate.

Stain Removing
Draping a pristine linen saree is more refreshing than any other saree.  But a drop of stain can ruin all your joy. So to deal with the stain wet only the stain areas with water, apply a thick coat of white toothpaste over the stains on both sides, keep hanging the saree for at least 72 hours. After washing off the toothpaste it’s good if the stains are completely gone or otherwise repeat the process. You can rub gently while washing.

Even it is lipstick stains don’t worry! The darkest of lip color stains even can be removed if you can take action quickly. Place on a white tissue paper with the stain side down, dab the stain with mild soap and let it remain the stain for 10 -15 minutes. Now press the stained area with another clean cloth placing a clean paper towel underneath.   you can see the lipstick and soap seeping into the paper towel.  Replace the paper towel quickly or else the lipstick may spread. The process can be repeated until the stain removes completely.

Softness
To keep the handloom sarees remain soft or to remove the stiffness you can wash the saree in this way – mix any shampoo or mild liquid detergent in water, soak the saree 30 minutes and wash gently, then rinse and dry. It is always advisable to avoid direct sunlight when drying the saree. Dry it in the shade or partial shade to avoid discoloration of the fabric. Hang it until dries completely.

Ironing
If you really need pressing your linen saree, iron it while the fabric is still a little damp. Keep the iron in medium to low heat on the steam setting.  We advise o iron the linen on both sides if it is white, whilst dark printed linens should be pressed only on the reverse side. Also, keep the garment on an ironing board or a cotton cloth before pressing to avoid creases. Do not spray water on the saree while ironing as it may leave permanent marks on the fabric.

Storing
While making the purchase a Rangoli branded cotton linen sarees we always tell our customers to store the saree wrapped in a light cotton muslin cloth. This will give the saree breathing space. Also, it will prevent the saree from sticking to another one when kept in a pile. And without fail remember to store the saree only when it is absolutely dry or moisture can damage the fabric. Lastly, store the saree preferably in a dark and dry place to avoid eventual fading of the fabric.
